Le Vignoble
Sur un terroir argilo-calcaire, le vignoble s'étend sur 42 Hectares (36 hectares de blanc et 6 hectares de rouge) avec les cépages suivants : Sémillon, Muscadelle, Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec.
L'exploitation gérée par Joëlle et Jean-Pascal Carrère, vignerons indépendants, est ainsi située sur deux communes : Monbazillac et Colombier.
The Vineyard
On a clay-limestone terroir, the vineyard covers 46 hectares (36 hectares of white and 10 hectares of red) with the following grape varieties: Sémillon, Muscadelle, Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec.
The exploitation managed by Joëlle and Jean-Pascal Carrère, independent winegrowers, is thus located in two communes: Monbazillac and Colombier.
L'histoire du Château Thenoux
Un trésor Gallo-Romain a été découvert en 1890 sur l'exploitation au lieu-dit "les Caraignes" : des pièces de monnaies étaient ensevelies. Les vignes sont donc plantées sur un site Gallo-Romain.
The story of Château Thenoux
A Gallo-Roman treasure was discovered in 1890 at a place called "les Caraignes": coins were buried. The vines are therefore planted on a Gallo-Roman site.
